The Competition: Our Difference in Care and Quality

When it comes down to it, the two most crucial steps of any concrete project is the base preparation and the pour itself. The care and quality in superior materials and attention to detail.

There are two key differences to both the materials we use and the assurance of a robust, long-lasting foundation.

1: Base Preparation

There are many types and textures of fill materials available. From sand, dirt, recycled concrete, road crush, and X. Often, contractors will use the cheapest material available: sand and mixed X.

With sand and dirt, especially after seasons of continual freeze-thaw in Edmonton, the base layer gets washed away, leaving the concrete supported by either an attachment to the garage or in some cases fully unsupported in the middle, effectively floating.

How we ensure our base material is robust

We use the absolute highest quality material available in Edmonton from Park Paving Ready-Mix

2. Ensuring Longevity

We have seen it all too often. The rebar has sunk to the bottom of the concrete, rusting, and ultimately rendering the rebar useless, creating breaks and cracks sometimes only five to ten years after the pour. We guarantee this does not happen by using little stools to hold the rebar in the centre of the concrete while it dries. Similar to the little table in the pizza box to prevent the lid from collapsing.

3. Respect and Care for your Property

We have inspected the sites of other companies and seen the horror. Whether disturbing or destroying the surrounding landscape or not using the correct equipment – resulting in both sloppiness and reduction of longevity.

As you can see, this pour was not done with an overhead crane, creating the need to drive over and damage both the rebar and the property.

Do you see Care and Quality in the above work?

Even further, you can tell that the base material is mostly sand. This driveway was f***ed from the start 😉
